Ramirez SP classical guitar

Ramirez SP classical guitar

We have eagerly been anticipating the arrival of the new Ramirez "Model SP"  classical guitars.  Yesterday we received  fine examples of this new concert guitar offering, directly from Amalia Ramirez in Spain.  These fine guitars display all of the painstaking attention to detail that have made the Ramirez name famous world wide.

The SP has been created and designed by Amalia Ramírez in response to demand for an intermediate model between the estudio and professional instruments both in terms of quality and price.

Amalia Ramirez was born in Madrid, in October 1955. In 1976, she joined the workshop where she learned how to make guitars. Then she left for few years returning in 1988 to help her brother Jose Ramírez IV in restructuring and management, and bringing a new look to the family business. The work was distributed between both, José Enrique being devoted mainly to the workshop whilst Amalia applied herself to the commercial aspects, although she also built guitars after establishing the workshop again in General Margallo.

The new SP model features all solid Indian rosewood back & sides,  premium Western Red cedar or European spruce top, Spanish cedar neck, ebony fingerboard, intricate custom rosette mosaic and precision gold plated tuners.

The SP model is a semi-professional guitar designed by Amalia Ramírez and built by a third party Spanish luther. This is, therefore, an exclusive high quality Ramirez model for those who want an instrument which is even better than the student ones. It is finally adjusted in the Ramirez workshop under the supervision of Amalia Ramirez.
