The engine that drives these powerful instruments is Mark's own rim design.  Almost all banjos utilize a 'wrapped laminate' rim but Wildwood rims are machined from solid rock maple blocks. The effect is obvious as soon as you play one of their banjos. The volume, the clarity as well as the character of the sound are all emphasized because of the solid nature of the Wildwood rim!!!
 

    This GORGEOUS Wildwood Artist left handed banjo arrived last week and features their flawless natural finish over dramatically flamed neck and resonator.  The Wildwood tone ring on this Artist model  is cast from a 'Pre War' alloy formula.  This tone ring in conjunction with the rock solid rim construction, one-piece flange and maple core 3 ply resonator combine to produce one of the most powerful banjos on the market!!!
