1966 Fender Pro Reverb Blackface Amp (Consignment) No Longer Available

Here’s a very clean, 1966 Fender Pro Reverb Blackface Amp. It’s been recapped and has a replacement 3-prong AC cord for safety.

Fender started building the Pro Reverb amp in 1965, and production ran until 1982. It addressed the need for players who needed the air movement of 2×12 inch speakers with clean power – 40 watts – that could still be driven to moderate breakup. (Many post 1976 models ran at 70 watts).

Like the more popular, more common, heavier and much louder Twin Reverb, this is a dual channel amp, with one ‘normal’ and one Reverb/Vibrato channel.

All Pro Reverbs are “CBS” amps, despite the blackface panel; the sale to CBS took place in January 1965, so the back panels read “Fender Musical Instruments, a division of Columbia Record Distribution Corp.” The separation of Fender from CBS took place in 1985.

This amplifier is in good clean condition with a pair of blue-backed Fender 12 inch speakers.

Serial Number: A 04048, built during 1966 in Fullerton, California.

Pricing: $1,650.00 CAD
