| Jerry Jones guitars are quality
crafted, reminiscent of the old Danelectro instruments using original type
construction materials and components. The body consists of a poplar wooden
frame that is sandwiched between two sheets of masonite and, when cut to
it's final shape, the body has a semi-hollow construction. A hardwood strip
forms a mounting pallet for the neck and runs through the center of the
body to connect with the bridge block. The maple neck is reinforced with
an adjustable truss rod and, when mounted on the hardwood neck pallet.
provides great acoustic qualities necessary for the instrument's unique
sound. The maple neck is topped with a rosewood slab radiused to 14" and
fitted with jumbo frets. The neck is contoured for a vintage feel and is
1-11/16" wide at the nut. |
| Lipstick-Tube pickups are at the
heart of this instrument's sound and many hours of research have gone into
capturing that vintage nasal-twang. A careful balance of wire turns, tension,
traverse, and magnet calibration will consistently reproduce this sound.
The metal lipstick-tubes also provide a special E.Q. for the coil besides
having a distinctive look. Tone selection is simplified by a master volume
and tone control. Pickup selection on a 2 pickup model is with a heavy
duty 3-way switch, and with a 5-way strat type switch on 3 pickup models.
The edges of the body are wrapped with an embossed white vinyl that provides
a nice highlight to a wide array of paint colours.
All instruments are available
with the optional Neptune bridge. The Neptune bridge is a welcomed refinement
of a classic design with it's individually adjustable saddles. Close attention
to details during the design process helped preserve the aesthetic quality
of the original bridge. Strings mount as before in slots at the rear edge
of the bridge plate, The bridge is mounted to the guitar with two forward
screws and a centered rear screw. With these three screws bridge height
and tilt can be adjusted to fine tune playing action. Individual string
length is adjusted with spring loaded 4-40 socket head screws located at
the rear of the bridge plate. |
