Martin Guitars

Known worldwide as one of the finest acoustic guitars made, Martin instruments take more than three months and over 200 separate operations to produce. At the core of the Martin Guitar Company lies over a century and a half of evolution and refinement in the art of guitar making. Martin has consistently created instruments of unparalleled tonal quality and workmanship.

Many common features taken for granted on today's guitars were first introduced by the Martin Guitar Company. In the 1850's C.F.Martin Sr. developed the "X" bracing pattern that is the standard for nearly all steel-string acoustic guitars made. In 1916 C.F. Martin introduced the first "Dreadnought" size guitar. Today the Martin Dreadnought is the most copied acoustic guitar in the world.
