Since this firm was founded by Jose Ramirez I in 1882, it's main activity has consisted in the construction of high quality guitars, and to date this traditional knowledge has been handed down from fathers to sons to daughters.

During this period, Ramirez created his own personal style which still serves as a model for the construction of guitars the world over. The most important breakthroughs were accomplished by Jose Ramirez III who created a series of decisive modifications in the internal structure of the guitar.

The Ramirez family continues to carry on the fine tradition of Spanish lutherie in their current line of Estudio and Concert series guitars.

"Estudio" Guitars

The design features, inside and outside of the Estudio Ramírez guitars, as well as the template, decoration, tone, and quality of sound and materials, are exclusively Ramirez. These guitars are made outside of the tiny Ramirez workshop, in limited runs, by carefuly selected Spanish manufacturers. They are specifically and uniquely built for Ramírez, and although their construction is not directly inspected by Amalia Ramírez, all  guitars are finally adjusted in her workshop by her craftsmen under her personal supervision.
E-Series The Ramirez "E" series roughly parallels the "R" series, but is generally perceived as having slightly higher quality materials and slightly more attention to detail with regards to craftsmanship.
