S/N: 400556, serial dates to 1966 but the Red finish dates to 1968. Built at the historic Gibson plant in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The Gibson B-25 first appeared in 1962 as a student, mid-range model with solid spruce top and laminate mahogany back and sides. Necks tended to be narrower than the professional models, and short scale versions were also built though most used the standard Gibson scale length of 24.75 inches. The B series guitars were last produced in 1977.

This is a fairly rare example of Gibson's B-25 production, with a limited production red top. It is in quite good condition, with just a few small finish chips but no physical damage, cracks or repairs. Fretwear is light to moderate; this guitar has been played, but also well cared for.

The serial number on this guitar points to 1966, but it's known that Gibson used duplicate serial numbers, sometimes even repeating them four times, during the 1960s. However, during 1968, the B-25 was offered in both black and this red finish. The screwed-down plastic pickguard is also original and dates to 1968.

A non-original newer hardshell case is included. The original cases for this level of guitar were faux-gator skin fibre - also known as cardboard. These cases didn't provide a lot of protection and many have deteriorated badly over the decades.
