Based closely on the tried and true ES-335 design, the Gibson ES-335 Pro came in either cherry or the antique sunburst finish seen here. Unlike many of the ES-335 models of the period, it does not have coil-tap circuits. It also features a 3-piece maple neck - five if you count the extensions for the headstock - with a bound rosewood fingerboard and dot position markers. The fingerboard is slightly slimmer than other ES-335 models of the period. Finally, it has black 'speed' knobs.
This example dates to September 10, 1979 as production number 5 and was built at the historic Gibson plant in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It is in decent playing, original condition. It has clearly been played, and almost certainly gigged with, so there is an amount of expected, honest play wear. The frets are original and have moderate wear, with corresponding wear to the fingerboard. The finish shows wear on the bass side of the neck, there is some buckle rash on the body back and a few small dents.
The original Gibson hardshell case is included.
