Ibanez has produced many professional grade archtop guitars, including the Joe Pass and George Benson models. These two models helped re-introduce the archtop guitar as a usable instrument in live settings and were very popular.

This is a very early Ibanez Joe Pass model - its serial number dates to October 1980, and the guitar 'first appeared' in 1981. The model is based on a D'Aquisto guitar built for Joe Pass. It is in good, but not entirely original, condition - a Benedetto pickup has been installed and it was professionally refretted with large fret wire. The side effect of the refret, is that it plays very well! It is presently strung with flatwounds, and a new Deluxe TKL hardshell case is included.
