In the late 1970's, Bruce Weber and Steve Carlson began building instruments near Bozeman, Montana. This became the source of this 1993 Flatiron A5 Artist. By 1987, though, Gibson noticed that the Flatiron products probably infringed on Gibson trademarks, bought the company, and moved much of their acoustic production to Bozeman. In 1996 Gibson moved Flatiron production to Nashville.

This 1993 Flatiron A5 Artist mandolin is signed by Bruce Weber and is in excellent condtion with very little wear. It features a carved spruce top, flame maple back, sides and neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge. The hardware is gold, with a fern headstock inlay. The sunburst lacquer finish is very nicely done. A black hardshell case is included.
