S/N: 0302, built during 2003 at Anthony Karol's shop in Mississauga, Ontario.
Anthony Karol has been building in the Mississauga area, just west of Toronto Canada, since at least 1999. His instruments are usually built to order in a wide variety of models and body styles, from classical to steel string to solid-body electric.
This example is a steel string built during 2003, using bearclaw Sitka Spruce for the top, Brazilian Rosewood for the sides, back, headplate and bridge, mahogany for the neck and ebony for the fingerboard. The top lower bass bout edge features a Laskin-style armrest done in ebony. The rosette, headstock floral and heel cap butterfly inlays are abalone. It's in good playing condition, and comes with the original tweed case.
This guitar is in overall good condition, but its relatively low price - for a guitar built with Brazilian Rosewood - reflects some work that was recently done in our repair shop. It's had some back dryness cracks repaired and touched up. The guitar has been re-humidified and the wood stabilized.
