In early 1963, the 40-watt Fender Vibroverb amp appeared as the first Fender amplifier to include reverb, a feature that rapidly became common.

The original Fender Vibroverb was built only for 1963 and 1964 and in its original form, had two ten inch speakers. After a short run of perhaps 600 units, Fender revamped its entire amplifier line in the fall of 1963. The Vibroverb was changed in several ways, including an improved optical vibrato circuit and replacing the two 10 inch speakers with a single 15 inch. However, the amp was discontinued in late 1964.

One prominent Blackface Fender Vibroverb user is essentially responsible for the reissue we see here. Stevie Ray Vaughn owned and used two 1964 blackface vibroverb amps.

This is a 2003 Fender Vibroverb, based on the 1964 Fender Vibroverb and built until 2008. As stock, it has two switchable modifications on the back panel. One allows switching between the stock tube rectifier and a solid state rectifier, which boosts the power output from 40 to 50 watts. The second switch disables the normal channel and the vibrato circuit, increasing gain on the Vibrato channel. The 15 inch speaker is very full sounding!

This amplifier is in good original condition and ready to go.
