The Gibson ES-175 has been an extremely popular and influential guitar, and has appeared on countless stages and recordings ranging from jazz to pop, rockabilly to arena rock shows.

Seen here and dating to September 5 2003 at the Gibson Nashville plant, is a Gibson ES-175 VS or Vintage Sunburst. This example is in good condition with minor play wear, and its fretwear is mostly limited to the first position. The top and back are nicely flamed laminate maple - laminate is used for its superior feedback resistance at volume. The fingerboard and bridge base are rosewood.

Currently strung with flatwounds, this is a seriously fun guitar to play, with a great feel and classic tone. I had to distract one of the guitar teachers so I could get my hands on it for the photos!
