It's very interesting to walk around Madrid; there are many small guitar shops and arts centers, and traditional Spanish music and dance can be found readily. And of course, the food is exceptional.

As young men of fourteen, Pedro Perez and Miguel Rodriguez entered apprenticeship at the Ramirez shop in Madrid, Spain. Together they gained knowledge and skill and eventually became master craftsmen working with Jose Ramirez III.

In 1991, Pedro and Miguel established their own workshop. Their hand built instruments are sought after by top flamenco artists, and they also offer a line of guitars built to their specifications.

Sadly, Pedro Perez passed away in 2008, but the shop continues at Calle Amor de Dios 13, or Love of God, near the center for Flamenco and Spanish dance.

This 2005 Pedro de Miguel Flamenco Negra Guitar is built in the traditional manner with spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, and ebony for the fingerboard. Tap plates are installed. There is light play wear, a few nail marks on the top past the bass tap plate, and slight scuffing on the back. Fretwear is minimal. The scale length is 650mm and the nut width is 52mm. A molded hardshell case is included. New, these instruments are 5,500 Euros.

You can visit the Pedro de Miguel website here; it is of course in Spanish so you may wish to use your browser's Translate functions.
