S/N: D1124, built during December 2006 in Newfane, Vermont.
Froggy Bottom guitars are an outcome of the work done by Michael Gurian, building guitars in the 1960's and 1970's. As with Jean Larrivee, many of Gurian's employees went on to their own stellar careers. One such was Michael Millard, who worked for Gurian from 1970 to 1974, and has been building Froggy Bottom guitars since.

Froggy Bottom instruments are entirely custom built to order and so are seldom seen for sale used. This example from 2006 features a dreadnought body with the characteristic highly arched Froggy Bottom back. The top is Adirondack Spruce, with Mahogany for the back, sides and neck, and maple binding. Ebony is used for the fingerboard and bridge, and Madagascar Rosewood for the head plate. The rosette, back strip and position markers are abalone and there's 5-strip purfling on the top. The heel cap is engraved mammoth ivory, no longer available but was a $700 custom order! Gold Waverly tuners are used, and the finish is catalyzed urethane.

The scale length is 25.5 inches and the nut width 1.75 inches. A TKL hardshell case is included.

This is a spectacular guitar to play. It has all the sparkle and power of a D-18, but it's far more complex and rich. The action is very good, with lots of saddle height for any required adjustments.

This guitar has been played, but not heavily. The finish is in great shape and fret wear is very light.
