Allan Beardsell presently builds guitars in Winnipeg, Manitoba, but much earlier he was doing repairs at Songbird Music in Toronto, and in between <there was an association with Serge de Jonge.

Allan Beardsell's guitars are highly innovative, and combine many newer design elements - raised fingerboards, side ports, radial-braced backs, and so on. They are also very well built, using top quality materials and parts.

From 2009, this Allan Beardsell model 9c nylon string guitar features Brazilian rosewood for the back and sides, a sinker cedar top, mahogany for the neck with an ebony fingerboad. The headplate and bridge are rosewood.

The bass side features two tone ports for the player, one with a sliding cover and the top uses a 'petite bouche' soundhole, similar to those found on Gypsy Jazz style guitars. The neck has an assymetric profile, a little thinner on the bass side. The lower bass bout has the Laskin style armrest built in, and it's very comfortable.

The scale length is 650mm or 25.5 inches, and the nut width is 52mm. Gilbert tuners are used, and the nut and saddle are bone. The fingerboard features an Eye of Horus inlay in various materials.

This spectactular guitar is in excellent condition, and includes a tweed hardshell arch top case.
