The late Jaco Pastorius was an extremely influential bass player, most known for his work in Weather Report, with many other artists and on his own. Through it all, Jaco mostly used a de-fretted 1962 Fender Jazz Bass.

The Fender Jaco Pastorius Jazz Bass® is strongly reminiscent of the 1962 Fender Jazz Bass played by Jaco, though it is not an exact copy. There is another Tribute version from the Fender Custom Shop which features an accurately distressed finish and an epoxy-coated fingerboard.

On this model, the alder body features a nitrocellulose lacquer finish with an early 1960's style sunburst. The pickguard has been removed, as on Jaco's bass, and while it is defretted, the pau ferro fingerboard is not coated with epoxy. The pickups are American Vintage single coils, and the wiring provides individual volumes and a master tone control. The neck plate carries the serial number and an engraved Jaco signature.

This bass is in excellent, original condition and comes with its original brown hardshell case.
