1964 National Bluegrass 35 Res-O-Glas Resophonic (consignment) SOLD

Comments Here is a rare 1964 National Bluegrass 35 Res-O-Glas Resophonic guitar! Built between 1964 and 1967, the National Bluegrass 35 shares many features with the Supro Resophonic FolkStar. This unusual guitar has been updated to make it completely usable on stage or studio. The original resonator plate has been replaced with a Hotplate so this is ready to be as loud as you need. A newer neck plate has been added for stability. As well, the fingerboard was professionally removed, an adjustable truss rod added, the fingerboard re-mounted, some refinishing took place, and the fingerboard was levelled and refretted. Consequently, it plays perfectly.

Neck Poplar neck with bound rosewood fingerboard, quadrant position markers. An adjustable Truss rod has been added.
Frets During the neck repairs, the board was levelled and refretted. There’s very little wear on the frets and it plays like a new guitar.
Body Standard ‘National’ size resonator body shape, but made from a two-piece fiberglass shell, with a black center strip.
Finish Original finish – Arctic White fiberglass cladding on body with black center strip, white coating on headstoc with National logo overlaid, black nitrocellulose lacquer finish on neck.
Hardware/electronics Original Kluson tuners with plastic ‘tulip’ buttons, original tailpiece. The original resonator cone and cover have been replaced with a Hot Plate. A new neck plate has been added for neck joint stability.
