The new Koch Studiotone is an amazing all-tube guitar amplifier which can do a lot more than just studio work as its name might suggest.  This compact power combo sounds a lot bigger than anyone might suspect and is fully stage worthy while its three channels provide you with every tone you need, instantly.

The power amplifier is equipped with two EL84s in class-A configuration and has a special old Vox-like tone …  very musical,  creamy , with open overtones and harmonics.

The Koch Studiotone has three channels which can be selected on the front panel,  but may also be remotely switched with the FS2-ST footpedal.  The Clean channel is beautifully warm with a rich and sweet clarity useable for any music style.  The Overdrive channel houses a wide pallet of juicy crunchy sounds ranging from blue to modern rock.  The Overdrive + channel provides killer lead sounds and its rich and musical distortion will give you an incredible singing lead tone with lots of natural harmonics and great definition.

In order to give you more one options,  Koch has added two Voicing switches to the three already powerful tone controls which influence the tone of all three channels,  The 2-way “Mid Shift” switch enables you to boost the the mid frequencies around 800Hz for a better defined tone.  The 3-way “Bright” switch allows you to cut or boost the high frequencies for creating a warmer or a brighter overall sound.

The newly designed VG12-60 Koch speaker is extremely efficient and has a beautiful deep and warm sound with enough highs for a twinkling clean sound.  The three speaker output jacks (4, 8 & 16 ohms) enable you to hook up any speaker combination you can think of for creating even more tones.

The most amazing features of the Koch Studiotone can be found on the back panel.  First of all,  the built-in Power Soak and the speaker on/off switch enable you to play the Studiotone at full volume and record it in silence without driving your neighbors crazy.  Secondly,  the Recording Output allows you to input your sound (as it comes from the speaker) directly into a mixing console or HD recording system while a speaker simulation filter simulates the sound of a microphone placed in front ot the speaker.  In order to give you extra voicing possibilities,  Koch has added two switches,  one for simulating a 1×12″ or 4×12 cab,  the other for selecting the place of the microphone,  axis or off-axis.  On top of that they added a Line Output without frequency compensation for connecting the Studiotone for example to a rack mount power amp and a “To Clean channel” output with frequency compensation.  With this unique feature you can input your sound into any other guitar amp’s Clean channel for boosting your total volume without loosing the unique sound of the Studiotone!
