Gibson Army Navy Special Model GY, around 1920 SOLD

Gibson Army Navy Special Model GY, around 1920 SOLD

The Gibson Army Navy Special, Model GY, was a nearly flat-top version of the L-Jr. archtop (the top has a slight arch but is not carved) and was built between 1918 and 1921. It was targeted to American servicemen during World War 1 and intended for sale at the local PX.

These instruments are fairly rare and have often been played, a lot – like this one. This is an interesting, quite playable, good sounding guitar with a definite history.

Dobro 60D Roundneck, 1971 SOLD

Here is a cool Dobro 60D Roundneck from 1971. This instrument is not in pristine condition, but could be restored; we’ve decided to leave that for the next owner.

It’s currently set up to work lap-style – with a steel rather than a slide – and in that configuration, it’s quite playable and sounds good!

National Triolian Tricone 12-Fret 2011 (consignment) SOLD

Here’s a find – a National Triolian Tricone, 12-fret neck, from 2010 in excellent condition. The Triolian was historically always a 12-frret model, but National now makes it in 14-fret (and baritone!) models too.

This example from 2010 is in great shape with only a few small scuffs on an edge or two. A very good deal for an outstanding instrument!
