1940's Rickenbacher Electro Model B lap steel* photo detail of front detail of back detail of peghead detail of neck detail of side	Serial Number:... none; circa 1940's Description:... Adolf Rickenbacher was born in Switzerland in 1892 and emigrated as a child to America in 1918. By the mid '20s he already had his own business which amongst other things, supplied the National Guitar company with metal bodies! In the mid '30s Rickenbacher was producing bakelite body lap steels, such as this Model B which features the later 1 1/4" magnet. This particular instrument has replaced tuners and a repaired crack in the upper bass bout side (see "detail of side" photo) which is structurally sound. Judging by the stickers on the outside of the case, if this lap steel could talk, it would have quite a few great stories to tell ... what a great old lap steel!!!!!!!!
