Important Vintage / Used Sales and Shipping Notices

Note: If you see an instrument listed that you want , especially if it has just recently been posted,  keep in mind that you are probably one of 30 or 40 people corresponding with us on that particular piece.  Contacting us with questions about a certain instrument does not mean it is on hold for you.  The only way to secure an instrument is to indicate by email or by phone that you definitely want the instrument.  We answer email sporadically during the day but contacting us by phone will get an immediate answer as to the current status of the instrument in question. We will put an instrument on hold for you for a short period of time pending receiving shipping quotes.  All full price offers take precedent over lower offers on consignment instruments and all unconditional offers take precedent over offers stipulating approval periods, per the consignment contract we have signed with the seller.

Note: We try and remove sold items from this list,  as well as mark items "ON HOLD" promptly, but local customers should phone before coming to the store to confirm that the instrument they are interested in is still available.

Note:   Instruments made in the United States, Canada or Mexico are not subject to duty if shipped within North America per the NAFTA treaty.  No tax is charged at the Canadian end if an instrument is exported out of Canada.  Only GST is charged if an instrument is shipped out of province within Canada.  Instruments made outside North America are subject to duty if shipped from Canada to the U.S.

Note:  Our basic consignment fee is 15% with a lower rate of 10% on sell prices of $10,000.00 or more.  We have had extremely successful world wide sales from our web site with well over 120,000 hits per week and ads running monthly in guitar specific periodicals.

Note: An asterisk * beside the model name indicates this instrument is being sold by us on a consignment basis.  There are restrictions on how long we can hold a consignment instrument (24 hours maximum).   Any approval period on consignment instruments has to be negotiated with the seller, before shipping.

Note: Shipping in the winter months can expose instruments to climates that can adversely affect finishes and woods.  To minimize these risks, ask for quotes on faster levels of shipping and purchase a guitar humidifier ("dampit") to be shipped with your purchase.  If you reside in a cold climate area, when you receive your shipment, wait ten or eleven hours until the box has come to room temperature before opening to minimize the chance of lacquer checking.

Note:  We only ship very small amplifiers (Polytones, Princetons etc.) as large amps have a high risk of breakage.

Note: Due to fluctuating international currency exchange rates, the U.S. dollar amounts shown on this page may not be accurate.  We calculate these amounts on the day the instrument is posted using the exchange rate from that time period.  Especially on high ticket items,  the fluctuating exchange rate can change the U.S. dollar figure significantly.  Please ask for the current U.S. dollar price when inquiring about the specific instrument you are interested in.

Note:   Due to the high volume of vintage and used instruments coming through our shop,  it may take a few weeks for an instrument to show up on our site (or up to a month for amplifiers).  Only gear with a sell price of $1000.00 or greater are guaranteed to be posted on our site.
