GoldStar Banjos – September Sale!

GoldStar Banjo September Sale

GoldStar banjos remain the cream of the crop of the “Gibson Clone” banjos, individually built by Saga Musical Instruments.

They own and operate their own workshop where these banjos and the best of the Kentucky mandolins and Blueridge guitars are built.

All models are equipped with true sand-cast, bell-bronze tone rings, fitted to a pre-war style 3 ply maple rim.

Inlay, joinery, fit and finish and setup is superb. All are finished in traditional Nitro-cellulose lacquer and come in the Deluxe Golden Gate pre-war style case.

Tonally they perform like a classic Gibson banjo: the mahogany GF-100 models emulate the classic RB-250 and RB-3 tone and the maple GF-200, GF-300 models are the Earl Scruggs model tone.

Mahogany is slightly warmer than maple where maple has a little more crystalline trebles.

Both have that classic Gibson “pop” or “cluck” to the attack note with a relatively quick decay compared to the “modern” Deering or Stelling tone.
