❌SOLD❌ Charvel EVH Art Series XB 1H Solidbody Electric Guitar, 2006

The Charvel EVH Art Series was built in the USA between 2004 and 2007 following Edward Van Halen’s departure from the Peavey fold.
Coming from the Charvel custom shop, the Charvel EVH Art Series models featured reproductions in three colour variations of Van Halen’s original taped-graphic finish. The bodies are basswood paired with a quartersawn maple neck, a Floyd Rose locking trem set with D-Tuna, Schaller tuners, a Wolfgang pickup and one volume control (with a ‘Tone’ knob).

❌SOLD❌ Baldwin Vibraslim Bass Semi-Hollow Sunburst, 1966

The Baldwin Vibraslim Bass was built between 1965 and 1970, but its first appearance was as a Burns model. Over time, the Baldwin label took prominence. This bass dates to around 1966 – the first Burns run had the controls mounted on the pickguard and had a more traditional tailpiece, which was replaced by the Rezo-Tube bridge.

❌ SOLD ❌ Gretsch G6120-1959LTV Archtop Electric, Orange 2000

❌ SOLD ❌ Gretsch G6120-1959LTV Archtop Electric, Orange 2000

The Gretsch G6120-1959LTV isn’t currently in production, but it represents the specs of the famous 1959 Gretsch Chet Atkins models, with lacquer finish, zero fret, Trestle bracing and TV Jones Classic pickups. Technically, this guitar isn’t a Chet Atkins model, as at time of construction Gretsch had not re-obtained the rights to the Atkins name. Still – the rest is the same. Based on a 16 inch wide, single cutaway body with sides 2.75 inches high.   It was originally built with a bracing system combining a pair of tone bars running the length of the body plus a sound post under the bridge, but in 1959 Gretsch added a ‘Trestle’ bracing system for Chet Atkins,  who was facing the common problem of hollow-body guitars feeding back at ever-increasing stage volumes.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Explorer Koa Natural, 2004

By the late 1950’s Gibson head Ted McCarty was looking for futuristic, fresh new designs, and in 1958 the radically different Gibson Explorer, Flying V and supremely rare Moderne made appearances. None were successful at the time – fewer than 50 Explorers were built over a few years and the Moderne didn’t make it past prototype. Both the Explorer and Flying V were officially discontinued in 1959.

❌ SOLD ❌ Parker Fly Deluxe Metallic Purple, 1998

❌ SOLD ❌ Parker Fly Deluxe Metallic Purple, 1998

Over the years many builders have tried to incorporate new materials into guitars, particularly carbon fibre. The Parker Fly may be the most successful effort to date. In production for over a decade, this model has proven to be reliable and versatile.  And it’s light!
Part of the success of The Parker Fly is that it doesn’t rely on all synthetic materials. Rather, it uses wooden cores with carbon fibre shells, allowing natural resonance, stability and durability. At the time this Parker Fly Deluxe was made in 1998, the neck and body cores were poplar; currently the neck core is mahogany.
