❌SOLD❌ Gibson SG Standard Natural Mahogany, 1977

The Gibson SG Standard appeared, named as such, in 1963 though it had been available for two years as the radically redesigned Les Paul Standard. It has remained in production since then, with a number of variations- some subtle, others less so.Here we’re looking at a nice Gibson SG Standard built during 1977, likely at the Nashville Tennessee plant. This was during the Norlin era, and the back of the head features a ‘Volute’ typical of that time, added to help increase head strength.

The Gibson Les Paul Classic 60s Reissue appeared during 1990 reviving the 1960 Les Paul model, with its key feature being a slim neck profile. This model has been produced in three stretches – from 1990 to 1998, from 2000 to 2008, and since 2014. The headstock decal originally read ‘Les Paul Model’ as the originals did, and this was changed to ‘Les Paul Classic’ in 1993. The pickguard is also engraved with ‘1960’.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES-125 Archtop Electric Guitar Sunburst, 1961

Starting its life as the ES-100, the Gibson ES-125 was built as an affordable quality electrified archtop guitar for jazz and combo guitarists. It appeared as the ES-125 from 1941 to 1943, with wartime restrictions suspending production until 1946. The ES-125 stayed in production until 1970, but in the 1950’s thinline and cutaway versions appeared as the ES-1235T and ES-125TC, and an extra pickup at the bridge was available in the ES-125 TDC model.
