Here we have a Martin Style 2K Soprano Koa Ukulele built around 1923 in Nazareth, Pennsylvania; this model debuted in 1918 as the Style 2, with the 2K Koa option until 1933, and as the Style 2 until 1965. In 1923, nickel patent tuners took the place of the original wooden friction pegs, helping date this instrument; at this point Martin Ukuleles did not receive serial numbers. This Martin Style 2K Koa Soprano Ukulele is in good working order and sounds quite good, with a warm, sweet tone.
Nazareth
The Martin 00016E is a compact auditorium sized guitar that features a Sitka spruce top and Granadillo sides and back. Granadillo is a tropical hardwood from Central America. Granadillo is similar to Indian rosewood but it tends to be slightly harder and denser. This produces a tone similar to Indian rosewood with a scooped midrange and extended bass and trebles but with an additional bell like chime to the top end.

MORE →The Martin 0-18 Standard is a wonderful addition to the standard series from Martin guitars. This parlor sized body features a Sitka spruce top and mahogany sides and back. The small body shape is extremely comfortable to sit with and compact lower bout width helps to decrease strumming arm fatigue. The mahogany neck has a shorter 24.9” scale length and low oval profile to add to the comfortable playing experience.
The Martin OME Cherry is a recently introduced Martin model, based on the OM body, itself derived in late 1929 from a 14-fret neck 000 model. Built with FSC – “Forest Stewardship Council” certified woods, including Sitka Spruce, Cherry and Mahogany, the OME Cherry also comes stock with a Fishman Matrix VT Enhance NT1 pickup and preamp factory installed.
