The Yamaha Grand Concert FC10 was part of Yamaha’s efforts to create top quality classical and flamenco guitars, an effort that began in the mid 1960s. At that point, Yamaha arranged for three luthiers – Hiroshi Harada, Hideyuki Ezaki and Toshio Kato, to learn from Spanish master Eduardo Ferrer.  Ferrer subsequently travelled repeatedly to Japan to aid in the production setup.

This effort was made with the assistance of celebrated Spanish luthier Eduardo Ferrer, who travelled to Japan repeatedly to instruct and supervise a small group of Yamaha craftsmen.
