❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES335 Dot Neck Thinline Electric Sunburst, 1959

This Gibson ES335 Dot Neck Thinline, built during 1959 features the now standard construction – Maple laminate top, back and sides, Maple center block, Mahogany neck and bound Rosewood fingerboard.   For these early models, the Rosewood used was sourced from Brazil – at the time, this was an extremely common wood and used on even low cost instruments.  This guitar was originally shipped with a Bigsby tailpiece; this was removed, put in the case, and replaced with a stop tailpiece.

❌SOLD❌Gibson Memphis ES345 64 Reissue Sea Foam Green, 2016

Here’s a beauty from the now-closed shop – a Gibson Memphis ES345 64 Reissue thinline archtop electric in an unusual Sea Foam Green finish! This was a limited edition model for the 2016 year. Introduced in 1958 as a midpoint between the groundbreaking ES-335 and upscale ES-355, the Gibson ES-345 featured the same core construction as the two bracketing models. A thinline body built with Maple laminate and a solid Maple center block, routed for pickups, and a Mahogany neck with Rosewood fingerboard are common to the three models (except for the ES355’s Ebony fingerboard with Mother of Pearl block markers).

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ESDP 335 Tobacco Sunburst, 2011

The Gibson ESDP 335 was a limited production model built at the now-closed Gibson Memphis plant, over the course of several years. The ESDP designation expands to “Electric Spanish Dot Neck Plain Top”, and is otherwise a standard ES-335 dot neck model. Gibson introduced the ES-335 as a new ground-breaking concept for their 1958 model year. Ted McCarty, then President of Gibson, had the idea to combine traditional arch top guitar tone with solid body sustain and feedback resistance.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Les Paul Gold Top, 1953

The Gibson Les Paul Gold Top appeared in 1952 and rapidly began evolving and improving until reaching a fairly stable form in 1954. Initially, the Les Paul was equipped with a Les Paul-designed bridge-trapeze tailpiece combination, but also a very low neck angle. By early 1953, the trapeze was replaced with a stop-bar bridge. Soon after, the new ABR-1 bridge, known as the Tune-O-Matic, was added paired with a stop tailpiece.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES 335 Thinline Archtop Cherry 2012

The Gibson ES 335 changed many things when introduced in 1958, combining the feedback resistance and sustain of a solidbody with the ’rounder’ tone of an archtop. This has been one of Gibson’s most successful models, and is still in production. Here we’re looking at a Gibson ES 335 variant – the ES 335 DP, indicating that it has double pickups and a plain top.
