❌SOLD❌ Gibson SG Special P90 Cherry, 1966

The Gibson SG Special first appeared with the new Les Paul body shape in 1961, and renamed to SG as the endorsement contract lapsed. It was built until 1978 as a lower cost SG model. Featuring the same mahogany slab body and mahogany neck as other SG models, the Gibson SG Special first used a pair of P-90 pickups and an intonated, combination stop-bridge tailpiece. Some versions, such as this one, also carried a short-format Maestro Vibrola tailpiece.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Northern Jumbo Slope Shoulder Dreadnought Sunburst, 2007

Like a Southern Jumbo, the Gibson Northern Jumbo features a slope-shouldered dreadnought body, with a Sitka Spruce top and Mahogany for the back, sides and neck. The fingerboard and bridge are Rosewood, with Mother of Pearl used for the inlays. A Firestripe type pickguard was stock. The top has a sunburst finish, on some promotional materials referred to as ‘Maple BUrst’, and the body has a dark tint. The rear of the headstock carries a decal of a Maple Leaf and ‘Limited Edition’ below. The truss rod cover is engraved ‘NORTHERN JUMBO’. As typical of Gibson acoustics of the period, an L R Baggs pickup system is discreetly installed, and the tuners are Grover Roto-Matics with nickel finish.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES-355 Mono with Sideways Vibrola, Cherry 1961

When the Gibson ES-355 appeared alongside the ES-335 and ES-345 appeared in 1958, they were a hit and the ES-335 was the top of the line, with all the extras included as standard. As stock, it always included a vibrato tailpiece – either a Bigsby, a Maestro Vibrola, or the all-new Sideways Vibrola. In addition, the ES-355 was wired in ‘Stereo’ with two jacks so each pickup could go to a separate amplifier or channel.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Firebird Studio 2017 T Pelham Blue

The Gibson Firebird Studio 2017 T is a new version of the ‘reverse’ body Firebird, using set neck construction and standard humbucking pickups. Available in Pelham Blue and Vintage Burst, this is a great alternative to an SG. The first Firebirds appeared in 1963 in the ‘Reverse’ body shape – referring to the lower, treble cutaway ‘horn’ being longer than the usual bass side, and with neck-through construction.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES-Les Paul Alex Lifeson Signature Artist Proof #2 White, 2017

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES-Les Paul Alex Lifeson Signature Artist Proof #2 White, 2017

he Gibson ES-Les Paul Alex Lifeson Artist Proof #2 is the second of three production proof models built, before the design went to the regular line. All three of these guitars were personally approved by Alex Lifeson.  Alex Lifeson is one of the most recognised rock guitarists, having spent his career with his band Rush. I am reminded of my high school days, seeing Rush perform in the school cafeteria on a stage made of folded tables; this was a long time ago and shows how dedicated Rush has been to working hard.
