The Gibson ES-350T (or ES-350TD to the early 1960s) is a thin-bodied, single cutaway fully hollow archtop electric built from 1955 to 1963 with a 23.5 inch scale length, and from 1977 to 1993 with a 25.5 inch scale. It started as the full-bodied, single-cutaway, 25.5 inch scale length single P-90 ES-350 Premiere in 1947. The ES-350 models were used by a number of top artists in the 1950s, most notably Chuck Berry. At introduction in 1955, the Gibson ES-350T shared several things with the also-new Byrdland, particularly the 23.5 inch scale length.

This National Squareneck Tricone Style 2.5 is one of the earliest resophonic guitars built, produced in 1929 in Los Angeles – with many components actually made by a nearby machinist and metalwork contractor, Adolph Rickenbacher. This is an early example of a production resophonic guitar – the first production took place in 1927.

That location was Larrivee’s first formal shop space separate from his home, and was soon followed by a storefront on Mt. Pleasant Avenue. Jean Larrivée began building at his home around 1967. At that time, if you were interested in building guitars you read the very few books on the subject or met an established builder.

Vega Pete Seeger 'Earl Robinson' Longneck Banjo, 1966

This Vega Pete Seeger banjo was purchased by American composer Earl Robinson in 1966 while he was writing his ‘Concerto for Five String Banjo’. This was first performed by the Boston Pops orchestra under Arthur Fiedler. From the late 1930’s into the 1960’s, Earl Robinson composed a number of well known, largely topical pieces including ‘Joe Hill’ ‘Ballad for Americans’, ‘Black and White’ and ‘Lonesome Train’, performed by many top artists.
