This Martin Custom Shop D-28, built during 2014, is a beautiful instrument with a number of subtle differences from stock models.

Immediately visible is the antique – amber tint on the top and the ebony Pyramid style bridge. Underneath, the top itself is Italian Alpine Spruce with a Herringbone rosette and 5/16ths scalloped bracing. Unusually for Martin instruments, the neck is not Mahogany, but ‘Spanish Cedar’ (Cedrela odorata), normally found on classical guitars. The neck profile is the ‘Performing Artist’ style.

The sides, back, head plate and body binding are Indian Rosewood, and the Rosewood binding really alters the look of the guitar. Tuners are Waverly open-gear models with black buttons. A passive K&K pickup set has been installed to a tail-pin jack. The nut and saddle are bone, and the guitar is built with Hide Glue.

Custom ordered in 2014, this Martin Custom Shop D-28 is in very good clean condition with only light wear. There are a few small pressure marks on the top, and fret wear is very very light.

The original hard shell case is included.
