Brand: Vega
Instrument Categories: Banjos
This Vega Wonder 5-string banjo was built in Boston, Massachusetts during 1967. Vega had been in the banjo business since purchasing the remains of the Fairbanks banjo company in 1904 following a devastating fire at the Fairbanks plant. Three years after this Vega Wonder was built, the company was sold to the Martin Guitar company. The name changed hands again a few times and is now a valued part of the Deering Banjo company.
This Vega Wonder banjo has been recently serviced by Grant MacNeill at The Twelfth Fret, and features a Senator style spun over tone ring, original 1:1 planetary gears, and all original hardware. The neck rim and resonator are Maple, with an Ebony fingerboard and dot position markers.
A non-original, hard shell case is included.
