Ard Rí is a Gaelic term meaning 'High King'. The gorgeous, hand crafted Avalon Ard Ri S1-330 acoustic guitar has a solid, deeply veined red cedar top and bookmatched solid walnut back and sides and all solid wood construction. The binding and back center stripe are beautifully done in sycamore with Ebony fingerboard, bridge and bridge pins, and tuner knobs. The string spacing at the saddle is 2-3/8 inches, and 1-3/4 inches at the nut. The body size is 14- 1/2 inch across the lower bout, so this is similar in size to a OO style guitar.

The walnut and cedar combination provide a warm, smooth and rich tone.

The Avalon Ard Ri 1-330 is available in three other body sizes - this small size gives the model number a prefix of S for 'small'. It's also available with a cutaway, not shown here.

Avalon Ard Ri guitars are built by hand at the Avalon Custom Lutherie shop in Newtownards, Northern Ireland. This is the same shop that housed the Lowden guitar company until George Lowden split more than 10 years ago. Some of the same luthiers that built Lowdens back then are building Avalons now. Like Irish cousins, there are many similarities and some differences in build and sound between the two brands, but there is no mistaking the quality and attention to detail to be found in a new Avalon guitar.

Includes a high quality Hiscox hard shell case made in England.
