Schecter C-1 Koa Electric Guitar

Schecter C-1 Koa Electric Guitar - The Twelfth Fret

Schecter C-1 Koa Electric Guitar

Sometimes beauty is in the simplicity of things. I believe this to be the case with the new C-1 Koa model from Schecter guitars. Schecter may be well known to many players for their guitar designs leaning towards the hard rock and metal crowd, but this guitar has some serious cross appeal for many types of music. The C body shape from Schecter is an arched top double cutaway guitar with two humbuckers, a mahogany body and koa cap. The mahogany provides a thick and full tone with accentuated low midrange. The Koa cap has similar sustain to mahogany but also provides a clear and open tone similar to alder. This tone wood pairing provides a classic voicing with some subtle variety.

Comfort and playability are excellent on this model with a slim C shaped neck and contoured set in neck. It is very easy to play all the way up the neck without feeling you are reaching around a neck heel. The 24 extra jumbo frets and 25.5” scale length are wonderful for both chords and single note lines.

The Schecter USA San Andreas humbuckers feature ceramic magnets and are quite hot but well balanced with powerful midrange and treble frequencies that will cut through any mix. If you are the type of player that likes to work your volume control to get different tones they seem to clean up well. When played on a clean amp tone they are crisp but not harsh.

The Schecter C-1 Koa Electric Guitar also features locking tuners and a Tone Pros T3BT TOM bridge with the strings going through the body.

As I have come to expect with the Schecter guitars made in South Korea the fit and finish is right on point. The satin finish on the neck and body not only look great but is super smooth and never seems to stick to your skin.

Not only is this offering from Schecter a great bang for your buck it is flat out a great guitar!
