2010 PRS JA-15 McCarty Burst (consignment) SOLD

Comments Paul Reed Smith has been buiding top-quality electric guitars for several decades now. His Private Stock instruments use the finest (and flashiest!) available materials and are built to exceedingly high quality standards.

Today we’re looking at a 2010 PRS JA-15 McCarty Burst archtop. Built in collaboration with jazz guitarist Paul Jackson, Jr., the JA-15 features a carved spruce top with tone bar and soundpost bracing, carved flame maple back and neck, and mahogany sides. This particular instrument also features Brazilian Rosewood for the fingerboard and headplate. Gold and mother of pearl are used for the position markers.

This fine instrument is in very good condition with no appreciable wear.

Serial Number 10-166096, signed and dated 9-21-10, Private Stock number 2914. Built at the Paul Reed Smith shop in Stevensville, Maryland, USA.

Neck Flame maple neck with curly maple bound Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard, and Brazilian headplate. 14k gold J bird inlays with mother of pearl centers. 25 inch scale length.
Frets Original frets with no appreciable wear.
Body Cutaway archtop body with Bearclaw spruce top, South American sides, carved highly flame maple back, curly maple binding.
Finish Gloss nitrocellulose lacquer McCarty Sunburst finish in excellent condition.
Hardware/electronics All original hardware. PRS branded locking tuners with ebony buttons, gold strap pins, top-slotted stop tailpiece and adjustable bridge,
Playability/Action This guitar plays exceptionally well with a lot of definition and clarity between notes.
Case Hardshell archtop case included.
