Neck Mahogany neck with unbound ebony fingerboard, bass-side mother of pearl position markers.

Body Carved spruce top and carved mahogany back, mahogany sides. There are a few small dings on the treble side edge.
Finish Gloss antique sunburst in very good condition. There are a few small dings and marks.
Hardware/electronics One humbucking pickup in the neck position, volume and tone controls. Gold Gotoh tuners, gold tune-a-matic type bridge on ebony base, ebony and metal tailpiece.
Playability/Action Plays very well and cleanly. The neck has a relatively slim, comfortable profile, but is wide enough for complex fingerings.
Case Original hard case included.
Comments The El Rey is a very interesting, original instrument. Smaller than most traditional jazz boxes, it’s very comfortable to play. The mahogany body and spruce top give it a warm, rich tone with plenty of articulation so no note goes unheard.
