The Twelfth Fret ~ Since 1977 ~

Fender Precision Bass 1965 SOLD

Serial Number L 92395. Built in Fullerton, California, and the neck is dated 5 AUG 65C
Pricing $4500 CAD without case. SOLD
Neck Maple neck with rosewood fingerboard.
Frets Frets are in good playing condition with light to moderate wear; flatwound strings don’t chew on frets nearly as much as roundwounds do.
Body Alder body, a nice weight and comfortable.
Finish Original red sunburst with lots of honest play wear; cigarette burns on front of headstock.
Hardware/electronics Original except for volume pot and knobs. Original faux-tortoise pickguard in great condition.
Playability/Action This bass plays remarkably well. Currently strung with flatwounds, the neck is true and it plays quite cleanly.
Case Case not included.
Comments One of the most brilliant of Leo Fender’s innovations, the Precicion Bass took the music world by storm and was the key element allowing radical changes in how music was presented (and how loud it could get).

This is a wonderful example of a mid-60’s Precision Bass. It’s definitely been used as was intended; it looks great, has a tone to match, and plays surprisingly well.
