Comments Here’s an Ovation Preacher from 1979 in excellent condition.

Ovation is mostly known for its breakthrough bowl-back acoustics, which became very popular on many stages. However, they did make a number of interesting solidbody electric guitars, including the Preacher.

Built between 1975 and 1981, the Preacher features a double-cutaway mahogany slab body and stereo/mono wiring.

Serial Number E 11847, built in 1979.

Neck Honduras mahogany neck with unbound ebony fingerboard, 24 frets, 24.75″ scale length, 1 11/16″ nut width.
Frets Original frets with very minor wear.
Body Honduras mahogany slab body.
Finish Translucent brown finish.
Hardware/electronics Wired for mono and stereo – each pickups can be sent to a separate channel or amp. All original hardware, two humbucking pickups, individual volume and tone controls, pickup selector.
Playability/Action Plays well; this is a bolt on design so the action can be adjusted to any player’s requirements.
Case non-original Japanese case included.
