|Comments||Dmitri Kulakov builds very innovative instruments in his shop in Ottawa, Ontario. We’ve seen his ‘Picasso’ model previously , and here is his ‘Forte’ model.
The 2013 DK Guitars Forte is named after the fortepiano, the forerunner of the modern Grand piano. Its body is fairly small, so it’s been provided with a port on the lower bout to increase bass response. The top-side sound hole provides rather a lot of sound to the player and listener.
The materials are mostly cocobolo for the neck, fingerboard, bridge, back and sides, red cedar for the top, and maple for the headplate, tailpiece and appointments.
An intriguing, quite good sounding instrument.
