Olivo Chiliquinga has been building stringed musical instruments for decades in a number of countries. He studied wood classification for two years in Sydney Australia, then in 1972 moved to Italy to build violins, moving again to Canada in 1973. In Canada, he ran the Olivo Guitar Company and also worked with Joseph Kovacic at Lado guitars. He now lives and works in Ecuador.
