Alvarez Guitars were originally, and the top levels are still built in Kani, Japan, with the lower levels later built in other countries including China.
Alvarez was founded by concert classical builder Kazuo Yairi in co-operation with St. Louis Music, a maker and distributor of a wide range of musical products. Alvarez, often known as Alvarez-Yairi, have offered high quality designs and construction for steel and nylon string guitars and ukuleles.
