BC Rich Guitars first appeared under that name in 1974, with production and assembly in Los Angeles and Tijuana and arguably launched the ’boutique’ guitar scene.
The company was founded by Bernardo Rico, who with his father first built classical and flamenco instruments. In the late 1960’s experiments with electric guitar models began. In
Bernardo Rico died in 1999 and was succeeded by his son, Bernie Jr.
