The first Beard resophonic guitar was delivered to a customer in 1985 and since then Beard Guitars has continued to innovate since that first guitar was delivered.
Paul Beard first became fascinated with resophonic guitars at just 18 years old, about the same time he began repairing stringed instruments. As a road musician Paul then focused skills on design and construction of a next generation instrument, a guitar that would take advantage of new technologies and techniques while honouring the tradition of the Dopyera family.
