Emerald Guitars, founded by Alistair Hay, are hand-made, carbon fibre instruments built in rural Dongegal, Ireland. Their first regular model instruments left the plant in 2001. In 2007, supply issues caused the plant to close for two years, re-opening with revised designs in 2009.
