Kolya Panhuyzen came to classical guitar building in traditional way – through family connections, particularly his uncle, Edgar Monch, at his workshops in Canada and Germany.
Panhuyzen has built for over 40 years, beginning in the Toronto workshops of his uncle Edgar in the late 1960’s, and followed Monch to Germany in 1971. Panhuyzen returned to Canada in 1974, and in 1992 set up a second shop in Germany.
Building one instrument at a time, Kolya Panhuyzen has developed a strong reputation amongst professional musicians and advanced students.
