Otto Vowinkel works out of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and in 1984 like many other current builders took inspiration from Irving Sloan’s book ‘Classical Guitar Construction’. Since then he has devoted his time to producing very high quality professional grade instruments.

He uses Canadian cedar or European spruce for the top and various kinds of rosewood or coco bolo for the back and sides. His concert guitars are completely French polished with shellac finish. His student models are built in Spain under his supervision.
