❌SOLD❌ Fender ’65 Deluxe Reverb ‘Blackface’ Amplifier, 2006

Brand:

Some amplifiers are notable for both their performance and practicality. The Fender Deluxe Reverb is one of these amps, having appeared on countless stages and studio floors for decades.

I was recently fortunate enough to attend a Saturday night showing of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, and noticed that the stage amps were almost all Deluxe Reverbs (the pedal steel players had others). This isn’t just for tone though the Deluxe definitely delivers, it’s because the 22 watts passed to a single 12 inch Jensen speaker provides a usable volume on stage and can be easily mic’ed for its place in the PA mix. I actually expected to see Fender Twins, but it seems they are too loud. The Deluxe can be turned up enough to get really working, without overwhelming everything around it.

Here we’re looking at a Fender ’65 Deluxe Reverb model, based on the circuit and ‘Blackface’ aesthetics of that period. It is in very good original condition, and includes its cover and footswitch.

Here’s what Fender has to say about this amp, which they built since 1993:

“Played on countless hit recordings for decades now, the mid-’60s Deluxe Reverb is a timeless Fender classic and one of the most indispensable workhorse guitar amps ever made.

Moderately powered and producing a full, snappy and crystalline tone revered in studios from Muscle Shoals to Abbey Road and on stages worldwide, it’s a must-have tone machine. Today, the ’65 Deluxe Reverb is still one of the coolest amps around, with the fantastic sound and vintage mid-’60s style still prized by rock, blues and country players everywhere. A classic then and a classic now.”
