❌SOLD❌ Fender Super Sonic 1×12 60 Watt Tube Combo Amp Blonde, 2006

The Fender Super Sonic 1×12 60 Watt tube amp, built from 2006 to 2014 as part of the Pro Tube series, was available in both 1×12 combo or separate head and 4×12 piggyback cabinet forms. These amps were highly regarded, though as they were fairly highly priced, were not very common.

This is a very solidly built amp, and features a mix of 6L6 power and 12AX7 preamp tubes. There is only one input, and the primary channel is switchable from ‘Vintage’ mode with selectable ‘Vibrolux’ and ‘Bassman’ voicings plus treble and bass controls, and ‘Burn’ mode with two cascading gain stages and treble, bass and middle controls. There’s also an AccuTronics spring Reverb, but no Tremolo circuit.

On the back, there are send/receive jacks for an Effects Loop with a Send and Return level controls, Preamp Out, Power Amp In, and a three-button footswitch that controls the Vintage mode, Vintage/Burn channel selector, and the effects loop. Here, the footswitch is not included, but is Fender part number 0069285000.

The cabinet is built of fairly heavy birch ply, which adds to the weight of the amp but also to its physical durability. And, it has tilt back legs!

While it’s difficult to date this amp, the serial number is close to other 2006 models and the ‘Super Sonic’ logo is executed in a font used for the early production; after a couple of years the logo was done in a traditional Fender ‘Script’ font.

This amp sports the Blonde Tolex / Oxblood panel and grille cloth colour scheme, which has a great early 60’s vintage feel, and is in overall good condition. Wear and tear is light.
