National Glenwood 2×12 35 Watt Combo Amplifier, 1961

Brand:

The National Glenwood amplfier line was built from 1961 to 1967, with models like the Glenwood Vibrato appearing around 1964. These amps work very well for bluesy contexts, breaking up nicely as they are pushed and not being overwhelmingly loud.

This National Glenwood likely dates to late 1961 and delivers 35 watts to a pair of Jensen 12 inch speakers. A two channel combo amp, it has both Reverb and Tremolo circuits. The covering is the typical National checkered or grey plaid finish, with some wear and minor tearing but is in reasonable shape and good working order.

These National amplifiers, like Gretsch, Oahu, and Supro, were built in Chicago, Illinois by Valco, which was associated with National.

er, 1961
