This Hartel Boucher banjo dates to 2008 and is in very good condition. It features a solid Maple neck with the distinctive Boucher headstock, and what look just like Ebony friction pegs but are in fact excellent PegHed geared tuners. The 12 inch pot has six cast brass Boucher style brackets, and an Ebony tailpiece. This is a fretless instrument, so the precise scale length varies with bridge placement.
12 Inch Pot
The maple-rimmed twelve-inch pot of the Gold Tone BT-2000 Banjitar brings out the full-range sound spectrum of a guitar blended with the plunky old-time tone of the banjo. The brass tone ring provides crisp clarity and the slim neck makes playing it a pleasure. Tastefully simple star-and-dot vintage inlays set off the radiused ebony fretboard. The BT-2000 banjo guitar will lend an authentic touch to your blues or Old Time stylings.
We’ve received a new Brass Spunover Dobson 12-inch, open back banjo from Rickard Banjos in Aurora, just north of Toronto, and it’s a real peach, as Rickard products tend to be. Bill Rickard has been developing his line of banjos and banjo components for several years and his output is impressive. This Brass Spunover Dobson Ring open back 5-string banjo is a great example of the quality of his work.

MORE →The Deering Goodtime Artisan Americana features a 12” rim, which gives the banjo a stronger bass response and a much warmer open back banjo tone. Played with an old time style technique, the Goodtime Artisan Americana is reminiscent of banjos from a period when larger rims were more prevalent which makes the 12” a great setup for playing old time music.
